Functional Brain Imaging

The FBI Laboratory (Freiburg or Functional Brain Imaging) is a congregation of researchers using modern brain charting techniques to understand human brain function

Research Areas:

Internal Collaborations:

MR-facilities are located in the Department of Medical Physics and the Department of Neuroradiology (2 identical Siemens TIM Trio machines). Centralised imaging analysis facilities are available in the Department of Neurology, as well as several EEG set-ups and TMS laboratories at the Neurocentre and the Department of Psychiatry.

External Collaborations:

FBI-Freiburg has strong links to the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN) and the Center for Data Analysis and Modeling (FDM) in Freiburg, as well as the Brain Imaging Center (BIC) in Frankfurt and NeuroImage Nord (NIN) in Hamburg. Members of the FBI also contribute to the development of the widely used analysis software SPM in cooperation with the Functional Imaging Laboratory, London.
